Initiated by Wim Cuvyers and expored by Jan van Eyck Academie, Brakin is a project in which a group of researchers explored "visualising the visual" by investigating two cities seperated by the Congo river, and then considering them to be one city in which they named "Brakin". They used elements such as trade, economy, advertisements, housing projects and public spaces as visible indicators for "reading the urban environment".
Every map developed is based on only one "protocolled inventory" at a time to then contribute to the research into how to visualise/map visual information.
