Text and Image Peer Feedback

After developing my ideas for the text and image poster, I couldn't decide on which to choose as my final as although they all represented the same idea, they all had different elements such as experimenting with type differently, tone, layout and switching the image for more text. I asked my peers to give me feedback on the 4 posters below as I feel they were most successful and represent the differentiations I was stuck on.

5 and  6

 7 and 9

From the feedback, number 5 and 9 were most successful and left me with the question on whether the text is more legible and whether the image is necessary.
This was interesting as I thought that 7 was a very interesting approach to the idea however it combined too many ideas and was not legible or understandable. Need to focus on the idea being very simple and instantly understandable.

The most important feedback I got to keep in mind for 5 and 9 when making the decision is:

  • Is image overdone? Are people desensitised to that image and is it therefore not impactful?
  • Is the text easy to read and does its impact replace image?
Before making my decision I need to alter number 5 from stark white type to the altering shades as that was received better and works with the image more as it suggests being in murky water. The widow in the text needs to be adjusted and the placement of "than fish can be more experimental.
