Summer Brief Feedback

My initial feedback was to try find something that linked together items or an experience in my living room more specifically than the themes I had chosen. An idea was to use the way in which multiple people stayed in that living room and how it was 'transformed' into a bedroom to create a tongue-in-cheek imitation of a hotel guestbook however an issue that arose from this is the practicality of the book - how would this content relate to a target audience and how would its production be cost-effective/functional as there isn't a clear target audience for my own living room, and the production costs of a hotel book (which would be very expensive) wouldn't appeal to the target audience.

Having a location as personal as a living room makes it difficult to pick a theme therefore after more feedback the best way to approach this would be to generalise the idea of living rooms and pick something that is more relatable while still referencing my experiences.
sharing spaces

  • How do we share spaces
  • using grids to share information
  • using grids to allow people to share the book
  • physical representations of sharing - fabric/contrast etc
  • look into living rooms/shared spaces in general - when was the first one how did they develop
  • maybe specifically look at student living if thats my target audience
  • reference my experience
  • convivial living?
  • mixed media to represent the difference
  • targeting students who will be moving into shared living
