When creating my book i began adding singular objects as layers to the image to progress from just rectangular shapes to create more visually interesting pages. This then inspired my final sticker idea which is to take images of objects in my house and crop some out of images already sent to me to create a sticker sheet which combines the mundanity of furniture and food with fun objects such as cartoon figurines that would be nostalgic to my target audience and nostalgia is a common trend in design now.
Once I had my images, I bitmapped them and created a clipping mask ontop of a gradient from my dark purple to the lighter green used in my book as green and purple convey the bitmap effect more effectively than the orange, and using the blue wouldn't have been as relevant to my book as purple and green are used more commonly as the main colour scheme. The blue was just used to compliment the orange and create contrast. Overall I'm really happy with the results and based on peer feedback these are stickers that people would want to use and share.
Issues with Digital Print
As it took me very long to come up with a final idea for the stickers and bad time management meant I had to get these stickers printed on the week of the deadline. The stickers were printed fine however as James was not in until Thursday, there was no one available to work the vinyl cutter. This resulted in me having to go in and check digital print everyday to check if James was in.
Need to manage my time much better and look out for future projects as when James is not in, there is limited options in the digital print room.
