The workshop was useful as it made me consider aspects of what makes a clear projection that I hadn't considered before. Images against black backgrounds will show up more effectively as sold fills will act as a light source preventing the crispness and contrast of the projected content. The way projections lay against fabric and colour also changed the effect. When the projections were against the red, heavy fabric chair, the images distorted into blurrier images with a red hue. The effect was actually quite nice as the distortion created a sense of collaging that could relate to my brief.
Projecting images against hard flat surfaces, even at angles, such as this chair still produced the most crisp projections especially as it's closer to the projector than the background. This displacement of the projection is interesting as a potential developing point.
Projections also warp depending on the curvature of the item. This could produce more visually interesting collaging of projections and displacements.
