New Typeface Development

To develop the type into something more serious, that keeps the same rules as the initial typeface, I printed out the type with grids to start sketching out ways to approach this. I created the rule of drawing straight lines at certain points throughout the shape, then applying curves within the sharpness.

There were alot of challenges with more complicated glyphs such as "e", "k" and "x" as although I wanted to follow the rules, I also wanted to create an overall visually fluent typeface, as a smooth flow would create the sense of movement I was looking for.

Process

First I would draw a line to each point within the form that I decided through sketching was the rule, then i connected the lines and curved it.

I developed a serif based on the circle left untouched by the stem, and then applied that serif to each glyph to create consistency.
