Group Crit Feedback 27/04

  • Alternate world target audience idea is interesting - it allows you to focus on the USP of each process.
  • Indirect flights website
  • handprinted type - there are kits to make these
  • Print on potatoes
  • Helena's pdf - how to make type at home
  • The feminist library handmade type
  • Ransom letters - could be blocks of text cut up
  • Designer who painted on metal so that it can never be photographed properly (analog/the real thing is the only true representation)
  • propose screen printing on different textures as it's a prototype
  • show the process of craft within the publication e.g show how I had to draw and measure the kerning
  • idea that so many of the processes overlap - what does this mean?
  • emphasise the binding - book bind where when front cover is opened the inside exposes the thread of the bind
  • explore both typefaces - 1) organic, cut out shapes, inconsistent and 2) "perfect" legible type
  • ebook - the typefaces could merge overtime (could explore idea of message being lost)
  • highlight that with the digital processes, work can always be REVERSED
  • ebook could be customisable? reflect on skill set
