I asked Pat what the best way to move forward with my final ideas is as I felt the back cover especially was lacking real design skills and design decisions and I wanted ideas on ways to relate the front and back more.
He suggested keeping the focus on the typography and experimenting with using the thinner stroke version of my typeface and also the sharp apex/vertex version to relate more to the original design. Could also bring in the source of the typeface by representing it as Inertia balls by having the letters within specific balls or having strokes of the text extend to then become inertia balls.
Another idea was bring in elements of different chalk smudges in colours to approach the idea of adding colour from my silent crit in a different way by using smudged pencil marks scanned in as finding a chalkboard isn't easy right now.
For the back cover, my idea of using different shapes from the original typeface to create a grid to then lay the text out was a good idea however he suggested having it larger and more alternating to avoid it becoming to clumsy.
