After using the shapes and following the rule of having atleast one 90 degree straight line and having the lines meet with the circle or other lines in ways that would seem geometrically correct, i then used the pen tool to outline these in varying strokes then changed the sharp edges to be more curved.
This allows for the typeface to be more varied which creates that playful, childlike personality and also softer making it kinder and more approachable for the target audience.
