Screen Brief Form and Feedback

Initial Ideas
During the briefing, realised that I was very behind in terms of research and idea generating as the week before is when all this should have been done and I should be starting the week with an idea I want to move forward with. Our task was to put our ideas into the screen brief forms to then get feedback from the tutors.

Feedback
  • Specify what students are the target audience - what year are they in? What course do they do? Are they art students?
  • Projection Installation is the most interesting idea even though it's least developed
  • Consider where the projection would be? Living room is a good idea
  • Website to accompany the exhibition - it could be about the exhibition and show the content more clearly
  • What would the projection show - think about a storyline. Does it start slow then end with really fast images (as my book goes from neat to messy?

Updated Brief Form
In response to the feedback, I filled in the whole brief form as a starting point for my development. The working title right now is the same title as my book as I feel the word "Co" is very representative of the idea of shared living and now applies to the exhibition space as many people would be sharing the experience together.
Description: Interactive projection installation exhibition based in my living room that immerses people in a space that they don’t have control over as a way of conveying the lack of control with shared living - this could be positive and negative.
Audience: University Art students

Format/Production Considerations:
  • How long will this projection last? Will it be really short and constantly repeated, or will it play over a large amount of time and everyone would have different experiences based on when they go to it?
  • Will it tell a story?
  • Is it completely interactive?
  • How many projectors would be needed?
  • What am I going to display? Textures, specific images, colours, shapes, etc.
Moving forward

There is still the element of interactivity that is lacking in my current idea for the projection - I need to develop an idea where people could be sharing something or could interact with the projection. This could be:
  • A projection where when people touch the space it actually moves in response
  • It could be about having an interactive piece in the space where people can use the item together while the projection is going on such as a board game.
