Different Recordings are an electronic music label that have signed some large names in the electronic music scene and their focus is on finding new talent. Their focus on the electronic music scene is also apparent through their animated and flashy website intro.
Noting UX
Fades into logo/introimages flashing so fast it looks like multiple images being shown at once didnt realise it was singular images until i screenshotted
What it looks like, music plays and it moves forward as if moving through a space/hallway
digital exhibition?
When you click artists sidebar comes out and the main animation rotates probably to not block the images
You can scroll through the sidebar
You hover over images and gives names of upcoming artists
When cursor is put to the right of screen it moves right like you're turning your head.
Does the same with left.
Overall, UX is really simple and interactive and filled with subtle surprises such as the change in perspective, the twisting of the animation, and the sidebar.
upon entering the website, the logo flashes slowly, and then a range of images flash so fast all around the screen that it appears as though multiple are flashing at the same time. This connotes Different Record’s focus on representing the artists they cover, and bringing the focus to them. The quick flashing of images also connotes their focus on electronic music and the black and white colour scheme provides an impactful but neutral base to not take away from the content.
The homepage - the images move towards you as though you are walking down a hall. It also imitates the moving of your head/perspective as when you move the mouse to either hide, the line of vision is shifted which creates a sense of being within a digital exhibition and imitates real life by including subtle animations such as being able to look around.
