Idea Development 3

I bought a different colour-scheme with the purpose of it being more contrasting, and would follow a scheme that could translate as modern/digital. The black and white would create the most juxtaposition, and the bright green was one of the most neon colours available which would allow it to stray further from the traditional use of yarn. Also, the neon green reminds me of the binary code font colour as even though the use of that colour in binary coding is dated, it still is conventionally used in media and the colour will still be linked to the digital/modern world.
I exploring the initial typeface I was going to use to see if I could make the kit a two step process without being too complicated however scraped that idea when I realised the gaps between the grids would be unavoidable and there wouldn't be block spaces to create the new font. I then thought to continue with it and explore spacing and layering as it could suggest 3D which is far from traditional knit type.

However, the white clashes with the beige grid and just blends in and the green gets lost among all the white and beige making it less legible - the background (the black and white/beige) juxtaposes more than the foreground (meant to be the green) making it very ambiguous which isn't legible enough to be accessible for everyone.
