Stickers Development

As I was having problems with the stickers, I looked back on my research and decided they needed to carry on the main concept of experimental pop being unconventional but accessible or pushing conventions to an extreme. Out of all the stickers, my favourite was the 'BIG SALE' sticker and I think that's because it's 3D and although that is conventional of the actual signs used for big sales, it looked most unconventional out of all the stickers and was very representative of the 3D renders used in SOPHIE's Faceshopping music video.
I began making a few of the texts more 3D but was still unhappy with the result as it doesn't relate to Joe Meek's song and I felt as though the whole record sleeve design was more representative of Faceshopping rather than I Hear A New World. The main theme that represent 'I Hear A New World' that also relates to Faceshopping is its distortedness as the way in which Joe Meeks made the sound effects within the song was by distorting DIY sounds he recorded at home. Therefore to make my stickers more interesting and representative, I experimented by changing the angle and height settings on the Extrude and Bevel options and that caused the images to become distorted.
Overall, I'm really pleased with how they turned out as I think they are somewhat identifiable as their original images and if not they still connote the excitement and shouting element that sale stickers aim to create. I included a distorted image of a banana from the fruit sticker, and two versions of the exclamation point to continue these themes and also add more interesting shapes to the leftover sticker sheet. They carry on the main concept of experimenting with conventions as I've taken conventional images and pushed the editing so far so that it's not clearly identifiable but still enjoyable to a wider audience. The heavy use of primary and bright colours also carry on the idea of childhood as that's where both Sophie and Joe Meeks began creating music.
