OUGD503 Module Briefing - Responsive

Will work collaboratively with someone not on your course.
Your task is to produce a well developed and effective response to the brief.
About 10 weeks to produce the project.
Alongside this brief, you will be working on three weekly briefs.

The Brief
You have free reign on what to pick but have to consider
  • What is the timescale of the brief?
  • How do you keep it interesting for yourself?
The deadline is OUGD503 deadline not the live competition deadline.
  • Is it something that you want to do and is it something you can see yourself doing in the future?
You can do multiple briefs - it's up to you to manage your time and what you can respond to realistically.
  1. Elmwood - The Future Today branding - to do with branding future technology.
  2. Fact/faction - brief Helena is running with BA Photography.
  3. D&AD
  4. ISTD - typography
  5. YCN
Whatever brief - you have to work together with someone not for them. This doesn't have to be a 10 week collaboration with one person.

3 Weekly Briefs
  • 2nd December with Orlando
  • 6th December with Helena and Dom
  • 3rd February with Joe Gilmore (visiting professional)
Evidence for submission
  • Sketchbook/blogs etc
  • Portfolio presenting your outcomes alongside with rationale
  • 500 word module evaluation
Portfolio
  • Your book
  • Your screen-based design
  • Your responses to the brief for the week
  • Your main responsive projects
Learning Outcomes
Only 4 learning outcomes that are all weighed equally.
  • Research and understand relevant issues as a designer + a range of research (not just looking at a book/ website. could be talking to people, watching something, visiting somewhere, recording something)
  • Making ambitions and appropriate responses that look good
  • Analysing the brief and generating a response that's relevant through the brief
  • Understand the project's context, self and time management, and personal skills (going out and making a network - finding people to collaborate with is an assessed skill.)
