- Antoine in L6 Viscom: My close friend and has an established independent brand where he sells alot of merch and tshirts that he designed. He also has a lot of experience in collaboration and connections that I thought I could maybe reach out to in the future to promote the brand I develop. His strengths lie in screenprinting, collage, and branding/social media. His brand is called seapunch, and he's built a following based on the younger target audience I want to target.
- Amelia in Textiles, UAL: A mutual friend who does really interesting textiles to me. She explores more political topics as this book would, but approaches it in a more playful, and conceptual way as I want to. Her strengths lie in textiles, prints, and concepts.
Antoine has expressed that he wants to be part of the project, however doesn't want to form the concepts as it's too heavy of a topic for him and would rather I approach him with the project when I've started creating work.
He actually suggested to collaborate with Amelia as he's her close friend, but mentioned that she's currently working on a deadline and it would be better to approach her (again as I've briefly mentioned it during the holidays) the week after.
I believe these two collaborations will provide really interesting perspectives on what it means to collaborate in design - one that I can take more of a leadership role with/someone that comes in later in the project, and one that may be a more main collaborator that I can develop concepts with.
